Staff Opportunities with YWAM

If you’ve finished your DTS and feel that God is calling you to full time missions then we may have an opportunity for you to join us.

Our staff are from diverse backgrounds, nations and are all ages with many singles and families living together in this beautiful canyon. We share a passion for serving God, making Him known locally and internationally and we are part of a community that trains and equips the body of Christ to make disciples in the ends of the earth.

YWAM Chico is a very unique campus. We run training schools, we’re involved in local and international ministries and we steward our large conference center. Throughout the year many YWAM and outside groups come to our campus for camps and conferences.

Our staff spend time each week in community activities (worship, prayer and intercession) and serving the base in an area that best suits their skills and our current needs. Our staff also participate weekly in one of our local ministries. Throughout the year we provide training and development opportunities for our staff as well as local and international short term outreach trips.

Most of our staff live on the campus, we will discuss housing with you in more detail detail during the application process.

Below are some specific needs that we currently have:

Before you apply:

All YWAM staff are required to have successfully completed a Discipleship Training School (DTS).

Our full-time staff positions require a two-year commitment.  YWAM staff positions all around the world are non-paid volunteer positions. To join us you need to have financial support from your network of friends, family and church to meet your expenses including housing costs.  We discuss the minimum support requirements for our staff as part of your application process.

College Reach:

Reaching the internationals among us by reaching the local college campuses.  Many have come to know the Lord while studying in Chico.  We also believe that the high statistic of young Christians going to universities and losing their heart for God does not have to continue.  If you have a heart for reaching university students in our city, come join us to win back our college campuses for His glory!

Communications:

We like making pretty things. What about you? We’re looking for web designers and graphic designers. Are you into photography or videography? We have a place for you!

Community Development:

Our desire is to bring God’s revival to all areas of life in a small Hispanic community outside of Chico.  We reach the youth through creative gatherings where we show them relationship with God.  We also have a Mercy Project team that expresses God’s love by meeting practical needs that people have.  If you have a heart for Hispanics in America, then come and join our team and practice your Spanish!

Evangelism:

On the weekend, our teams hit the streets to evangelize among the college bar scene and the transient community that passes through. If you have a passion to see our cities reached with His love, come join us and let His unlimited creativity work through you!

Finance:

If you like numbers and you’re a good organizer there’s a role available in our finance team.

Homeless Ministry:

Every Wednesday we partner with the Jesus Center to serve food, pray, counsel and minister God’s love to men, women and families. Our teams also lead worship there and create a powerful atmosphere for God’s presence to deeply touch people’s lives.

Housekeeping:

Impress your mom with your mad skillz at bed-making. Come & serve our conference guests, students and staff by keeping the facilities clean and orderly.

IT:

Love networking? Want a challenge? We have a huge campus in a canyon with a nearly century-old brick hotel. And we need a 21st century network. Tag, you’re IT!

Kitchen:

Good food adds a little je ne sais quoi to a YWAM base. Are you trained in food service? Or is feeding people your love language? We have community meals year-round, and during conferences our kitchen serves up to 400 guests. Grab an apron and c’mon!

Landscaping & Grounds:

Envision creating an oasis in a dry land. We have an expansive campus with many beautiful areas that need a few green thumbs to keep them lush and beautiful. If you have skills in landscaping or as an arborist, we’d love your help.

Maintenance:

Our campus has more than eighty buildings, many of which are a century old and in need of remodeling. If you have construction, maintenance or mechanical skills, you could be a godsend.

School Staff:

Assist trained teachers to teach English to our ESL; twice a year beginning in February and September.
