Produce fruit in keeping with repentance

This week our team has been challenged with patience and perseverance. Coming into outreach we had such high expectations of miracles, signs and wonders but we weren’t seeing these things come to fruition. In fact, we have been struggling to even get past simple greetings – due to the language barrier – which has led to feelings of helplessness and discouragement.

God has baffled me several times this week by how he encourages me through my devotions with exactly what I need to hear. Because we were feeling like our ministry is having no impact, and questioning whether our seeds will bear any fruit, God encouraged me to be confident because His word will not return to Him void. It will require patience and perseverance, and trust that God is working and using our team for the good of His Kingdom even though we do not see what He sees. But God’s plans are always greater than our own, so instead of doubting Him, we ask to see what He sees, ask what lesson we can be learning from the situation we are currently in. He will be faithful in sharing with us what we need to hear. Not only did the Lord encourage me to be patient but showed me what leads to a plentiful harvest.

Luke 3:8 says, “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.”

Don’t be discouraged. God will not waste your time if you continue in obedience, repentance and perseverance.
