Am I living each day for myself or for others? That is the question the Holy Spirit convicted me of as I was beginning to feel apathetic toward the end of my outreach.

Knowing I only had three weeks left, I began to look forward to the comforts of home; in return, I was losing God’s heart for the people here in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. When God challenged me with the reminder to surrender myself daily to His will, my heart felt heavy for the people here. I need to make sure my own apathetic or lazy feelings do not rob people from seeing and hearing the word of God.

God has specifically called us, a team from California, here at this time to bring the good news and light of Jesus Christ. It being the end of my time in Africa is not an excuse to shut off my emotions and turn away from all God has in store.

I believe that we can make a choice everyday to influence one person around us. That one smile, one laugh, one interaction with someone is spreading God’s joy and love for His people. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to be in tune with the Holy Spirit and be guided in how to love people and bring glory to His name. I want to encourage everyone to make a decision to ask the Holy Spirit each morning who you can bless. When you live to be a blessing to others, God fills your heart full of life. “…he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭
